Increasing functionality step by step

Earlier, Wicotec Kirkebjerg used Spreadsheets for manning projects. With time, this became increasingly difficult to manage, and the solution was sensitive to human error. Furthermore, this process had no way of matching projects and employee competencies. To make matters worse, being in the entrepreneurial industry, Wicotec Kirkebjerg had to keep track of and update employee courses and certifications on hundreds of short-term employees. 

Orbit solved all of these issues module by module. Orbit Profile and Orbit Reference gives a clear overview of employees and projects, to be used in prequalifications and tenders. Orbit Profile furthermore makes things much easier when matching personnel and projects. Everything has deep integration with the company AD and Navision ERP for updated personal- and project information.

The competence submodule notifies relevant personnel about upcoming renewal of courses and certifications to stay up-to-date.

It all comes together in an integrated solution that combines personal skill profiles, projects and resource allocation to provide project managers with the best possible overview of who can do what - and when they are available for new tasks.
At Wicotec Kirkebjerg we are very pleased with Orbit. Set-up of data required time and focus, but the result is a very user-friendly and clear platform. Before Orbit, we had a lot of redundant work routines regarding CV’s and references, but Orbit has significantly sped up our handling of these and increased our overview.

Finally, we have added Orbit Intranet as this allows us to keep everything on one platform.
