Automation through integration

Orbicon is a multi-disciplinary engineering corporation with 650 employees in offices all over Denmark. They specialize in environmental engineering, construction and utility planning. Every year they have more than 3.000 projects that need to be documented and archived for future use in marketing and public tenders. The sheer number of references made it an almost impossible task, which meant that only a small number of projects were documented every year.

Orbit Reference Management was integrated with Orbicon's Dynamics AX ERP system, which contains all projects ever done by Orbicon. This allowed the system to automatically create references based on all projects, assign project leaders and project economy in the ERP. Changes made in the ERP system are automatically synchronized with Orbit every 3 minutes year-round.

Handling 650 users can be quite a challenge, and Orbit is therefore integrated directly with Orbicon's AD (Active Directory) enabling single sign-on for all users. Advanced web service has never been easier.
